The exabyte is a multiple of the unit byte for digital information. In the SI units, the prefix exa indicates multiplication by the sixth power of 1000 (1018). Therefore, one exabyte is one quintillion bytes.
1 EB = 1018 bytes = 10006 bytes = 1000000000000000000 B = 1000 petabytes
The exabyte unit of measure measurement is so large, it is not used to measure the capacity of data storage devices. Exabytes are used to measure the sum of multiple storage networks or the amount of data transferred over the Internet in a certain amount of time. For example, several hundred exabytes of data are transferred over the Internet each year.
